必遭天譴的迷思

記得上年年尾香港一安老院發生虐老事件,護理主任陳秀娟逼長者吃糞便被裁定四項普通襲擊罪名成立,裁判官黃汝榮指其罪行令人極度厭惡,說她「必遭天譴」。 「必遭天譴」背後意味著有上蒼會對人類各種行為做出公平的審判懲處。但如有上天為我們作主,又何需「人」作法官、執法人員、制定法律、市民告發、提交證據、設陪審團,以確保一切公平? 如不是「人」去立法、捉拿、審判、懲罰,你認為陳秀娟哪一天會「遭天譴」?也許永不。 陳秀娟就在裁判官黃汝榮判她罪成那一天,被「譴」了。公平產生,正義得以伸展,陳秀娟完成被判的懲罰後,公平原則上她不應再被「天譴」。
